Boarding and Day School

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is non-denominational Christian school located in the beautiful Emerald Coast area of the Florida Panhandle. LPCA provides a coeducational private college preparatory boarding and day school.  It was founded in 2005 by businesswoman, educator, and ordained minister, Joanna Johannes. Lighthouse is accredited by the Christian Schools of Florida, Middle States Association and the National Association for Private Schools.

School campuses are located only 2 miles from the beach and the Santa Rosa sound. Our students enjoy activities like surfing, boating, water skiing, horseback riding, and paddle boarding. Field trips involving horseback riding, hiking and camping are frequent. Because of our quality college preparatory education, our strong athletic program and our supportive Christian environment, students thrive.

LPCA Boarding School is available for 7^th through 12^th grade. The day school is available for Kindergarten (age 5) – 12^th grade. Lighthouse is a Christ-centered college preparatory school who seek an opportunity for a quality education in an environment that is designed to lead young people to a life of learning, serving, and following a Christ led purposeful life.

Our accredited, and excellent academic program provides a wonderful opportunity for only 30 boarding students per year. Although the boarding school students have classes within our day school environment, their separate boarding school home is an elite environment set up with high end rooms, supportive residential assistants, and an inviting environment that helps students succeed. Besides having an upscale room along with a private restroom, there is also a technology area that allows students to work on homework at their convenience. If a student would rather be placed with a Lighthouse host family, we can arrange that as well. Our host families, just like our staff, have all passed the most thorough level 2 background check and have been trained in CPR and host family hospitality.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy helps lead young adults to academic excellence, spiritual awareness, college preparedness, and leadership.  We serve students from across the U. S. and abroad: Our day school locally serves families from Navarre, Gulf Breeze, Pensacola, Milton, Pace, and Mary Esther. Currently, we also serve international students from South Korea, Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany, France, China, Honduras, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and more.

The boarding house is a beautiful and upscale facility that looks over a lush area of landscape and wide-open fields. It is located between the 2 high school campuses.

Spiritual growth of students

Our students live and learn in a Christ-centered community where select faculty live on campus and create a nurturing environment that positively impacts our students.

Lighthouse students start off their day with prayer and a bible lesson for their first period by attending chapel each morning: 9-9:30am. We have rotating pastors come to the campus to conduct the morning sessions of joyful praise. On Fridays, Chapel is led by a Lighthouse leader and selected juniors and seniors. Our curriculum also has biblical integration. Christian counselors are available throughout the day or by appointment. All LPCA faculty are Christians that fall under various denominations.

Curriculum:

The primary curriculums used are Alpha Omega Christian Curriculum and Bob Jones University. They both intend to accelerate learning past the Florida Department of Education’sSunshine State standards. LPCA has aninventive, hybrid approach to teaching and learning. Our educators are highly qualified whereby most are masters level instructors. Our class time is spent learning in a traditional classroom. However, we also intertwine hands on learning through enrichment classes such as zoology, marine biology, foreign language and the arts.

Lighthouse focuses on ACT and SAT preparation through daily national exam practice for high school students. We offer honors classes and dual enrollment with Pensacola State University.

Athletics:

Athletics are emphasized as LPCA is a NCAA qualified school. The mascot is appropriately the Stingray as LPCA is located very close to the white sand seashores of Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach.

Sports include:  Tackle football (boys), basketball (boys, girls), volleyball (girls), golf (girls and boys), swimming, baseball (boys) and softball (girls). Lighthouse has both junior varsity and varsity teams.

Academic tutoring and college counseling/preparation sessions available for all athletes.

Other Programs:

LPCA has on-campus paid jobs for seniors in good academic standing: (tutoring, grounds maintenance, café program, agricultural center assistance)

Extracurricular activities/Enrichment: Agricultural training, Marine biology, zoology, law enforcement training, drama, art, and various after school clubs. The Gulf Breeze campus is within 1 mile of the Gulf Breeze ZOO and it is the perfect placement for students wanting to work with animals or going into Veterinary science. The Pensacola campuses are located in beautiful East Hill (downtown Pensacola). The Lighthouse gymnasium is across the street from the educational campus and is available for athletic practice every day.

Tuition:

Tuition for boarding school:  $44,000 annually (10 months: August 01 – May 31)

Day school tuition: $7,500-$11,000 annually (10 months: August 15 – May 31)
